about the artist
Sue Dunagan has been working and playing with art as long as she can remember.
Through careers in finance, education and horticulture, she persisted as a self-taught artist, expanding to professional seminars with Carol Stecher-Jones, Beverly Fotheringham and John Ebner. University studies in biology deepened her appreciation of aesthetics and the natural world. These days she studies the interaction between various painting and sculptural media, combining their unique qualities to describe this ever-changing adventure of being alive. Originally a figurative artist, she is currently exploring abstract themes, fascinated by the work of Matisse and Helen Frankenthaler. You can find her at Vala Art Center, the Redmond Clay Studio, or walking the beaches of Whidbey Island, often accompanied by a little white dog. |
